took the same stance with maxey years ago. turned out pretty well
Honestly feels like the new CBA is killing teams having interest in offering godfather type deals that gut their team and flexibility to actually build a team around the player they are trading for.
I mean the guy is simply rocking out as a rookie, he is a keeper
Then Giannis aint going to Phillie. If I was MIL all talks start and end with him
Didn’t Morey say similar things about Maxey a few years ago? If that’s any indication…
No brainer.
I mean yeah I’d hope so they’d have to be braindead to trade that dude he’s awesome
They would be stupid to trade him to be fair
Smart move. VJ Edgecome is a future all nba guard and he’s like 12 years younger than Giannis and will be way cheaper for the next 6-7 years
You trade VJ and he becomes the franchise player for another team. And then you start regretting the trade when he’s on a fast track to becoming a superstar somewhere else
Trust the process
What does a Sixers trade for Giannis look like anyway? I can’t see the Bucks taking on PG’s contract (unless VJ is included?) and I can’t see the Sixers trading Maxey/Embiid.
Why would anyone think there trading VJ?
Watch him slump his sophomore season and Philly fans lose their minds… and I say this as a supporter.
Love Giannis, but Id stick with VJ. Giannis is starting to turn into street clothes and we have 2 players like that already. While VJ may be taking a back seat now- it’ll be interesting how his game evolves in a few years.. Id do that trade with McCain, though- just depends about what picks we’re talking about and how many. Sixers need to start looking to the future and rebuilding if we cant get it done with this roster. Honestly, and it hurts to say it, I’d consider shopping Embiid if you could get some decent assets/picks and had any takers.
If I’m Philly I’m trading either or both of McCain and VJ. Embiids defense has taken a step back but with Giannis, Maxey and Embiid they should be the favorites in the East
They’d have to include PG which will cost assets to move
Would be a huge mistake to move him for anything but a top 5 guy. I like Edgecombe more than Maxey. I realize that is molten hot take with the season Maxey is having, but VJ is Ant Edwards 2.0 if he can develop the defense. Undersized guards have… a complicated track record.
Dumb move
Duh.
