So Ive been betting sports daily for almost 10 years. I’m trying so hard to quit gambling. I enjoy watching sports but that got ruined once I started betting on games. I find it hard to watch a game with no money on it. Is it possible to go back to watching sports as normal person without being a degenerate? If so any tips are appreciated.

Ya bro you will get there but not at the start. It’s not going to be fun because your dopamine and reward pathways in your brain are fried right now.
Give it a few months at least, work hard on your recovery, and you will enjoy it for the love of the game again.
Good news is you will actually enjoy close games , as a degen gambler we always wanted blowouts lol.
And you won’t care about upsets anymore, you won’t have to worry about losing your whole pay cheque after the game is done either 🙂
Give it time brother, I’m living proof you can get back to watching and I’ve been bet free for almost 11 months.
Put a plan in action and execute it. This might look like > blocking all sports books, lifetime ban, calling your bank to block any gambling transactions, attending therapy and GA, handing over finances to a loved one for a bit, etc etc.
If you really want to stop gambling , “trying so hard to quit gambling” has to come with a plan of action. Not willpower, discipline, or promising yourself you’re done. That shit doesn’t work with this monster.

What I got into was fantasy with mates. I love watching NRL but yeah without betting it’s different. Started playing NRL fantasy and it adds that extra bit to each game.
