Hi, I recently just went to my first GA meeting and I walked out feeling like a huge weight has been lifted. No, the debt and the money problems are still here (of course – that will take some time to recover) but knowing that other people have been through it, have come out on the other side just put things into a new perspective. I didn’t realize how much I had isolated myself and made myself delusional in my gambling.
Now, I understand that this is going to take time and loads of effort to quit, and one meeting won’t change it all – but I do know it gave me a ton of insight and some people to lean on when feeling this way.
Biggest tip of going to GA: Be open, and honest. This is not the place to hide your addiction or to downplay the severity of your addiction.
I am a compulsive gambler & I will attend my next meeting Sunday, hopefully with two whole days gamble free.

Yes Ga is great however it not ran by professionals each case is different some people are extroverts others like myself are introverts some people are fine having the military treatment others need a different approach which is why it doesnt have 100% track record honesty is key factor and it depends on the indvidual i believe anything is possible in life i also believe yes it an addiction but god gives u a choice gambling only wispers it your choice to follow through and if u want something in life anything possible Ga issue is it ran by addicts not by professionals the key is finding out the reason u gamble some people find s new meaning to life which Ga fails to address other people have mental health issues which need to be addressed their are people who have done it without Ga which ga fails to address if Ga works for u thats great its not the only way👍
